You have to have both to run a manufacturing business. Leadership texts routinely talk about vision in the first sense. It is the leader’s job to have a vivid mental image of where the company needs to go and the courage to pursue it. However, unless your vision of where you are going is checked by vision that shows where you are, your company is going to be in deep trouble.

Accomplishing sight is more than just running a couple of reports from the Visual menus. You need to ensure that the data that underlies these reports truly reflects the state of your company.
